Alpha Academy

The Academy meets from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the third Saturday of the month from September to May at the Cosumnes River College Library in Room L-111. Youth Mental Health First Aid Community Training

Elk Grove Unified School District is hosting a Youth Mental Health First Aid training for interested community members. Youth Mental Health First Aid is an eight-hour public education program that introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention, and most importantly teaches individuals how to help a youth in crisis or one experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. The U-CAN College Fair (http://ucangotocollege.org/) features Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and offers seniors enrollment on the spot. Pre-register at http://www.gotocollegefairs.com/. Students in grades 9-11 should bring an unofficial transcript for colleges to review.
